Otto Heinrich Propheter was a court painter from Baden.
Otto Propheter studied painting from 1891 to 1901 at the Grand Ducal Baden School of Art in Karlsruhe under Ferdinand Keller.
Propheter initially painted landscapes, later focusing on portraiture in the style of Franz Lenbach.
He painted portraits of Grand Duke Friedrich, Grand Duchess Luise, Princess Victoria, Hereditary Grand Duke Friedrich and Princess Hilda of Nassau for the Baden court. Propheter also painted portraits of representatives of large-scale industry, including members of the Krupp family.
