
Albert Thomas Jarvis Gilbert was a painter and illustrator born in Walworth, London. He studied in Southport, Lancashire and was active as an artist from the 1890’s onward, he was elected to the Royal Institute of oil painters in 1909 where he exhibited 53 times. He exhibited widely until his death including 11 times at the Royal Academy.
