Max Elskamp was a Belgian symbolist poet. He was a member of the Royal Academy of French Language and Literature. He bequeathed his papers, library, and other items from his collections to the Royal Library in Brussels, which deposited the collection at the Archives and Museum of Literature, the Free University of Brussels, and the Museum of Walloon Life in Liège. The most significant collection is housed at the Antwerp Library.
