About the Artist

Leopold von Stoll was a flower painter of Dutch origin, who was primarily active in Austria. Leopold von Stoll was born in 1808 in the Netherlands. In 1828, he worked in Krakow and Warsaw. From 1830-1834 lived in Saint Petersburg, where he held a job of a flower painter at the Imperial Botanical Garden.
