Charles Paul Henri Morel was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator.

After serving as a cavalry captain under General Charles-Arthur Maitrot, Charles Morel studied under the painter Édouard Detaille. From 1887 onwards, he regularly exhibited military-inspired watercolors at the Salon des Artistes Français until 1894, when he was awarded a prize and became a member of the society. He also exhibited at military painting salons.

Morel is best known for his illustrations for book publishers and periodicals such as L'Univers illustré, Le Monde illustré, and L'Illustration, which specialized in military reportage. He worked for Armand Colin, the Société des amis des livres (co-directed by Henri Beraldi), Paul Ollendorff, and others.

In his later years, he produced etchings (H. Daragon, 1904).

Father of Raymond Morel, he died at the age of 47 on July 27, 1908, in Paris, at 43 boulevard de Beauséjour, and was buried in the Montparnasse Cemetery.
