Hope Shippee Bunin was an American artist who was born, 1908 in Providence, Rhode Island.
She attended Brown University Women’s College class of ’29. She played a big part designing sets, puppets and performing with the WPA Puppet Division of the Federal Theatre Project in New York under the direction of Remo Bufano and working with Ascanio Spolidoro, Rufus Rose, Morey Bunin and others including a few Sarg alumni.

She married puppeteer Morey Bunin and together performed with the USO in shows in the South Pacific. After the war, she played at the Palace Theatre with Danny Kaye and at Radio City Music Hall, an appearance that led them to television with Lucky Pup and together “The Bunin Puppets” would become famous as television puppeteer pioneers with the show “The Great Foodini” aka “Lucky Pup”.
