Nicolaas Wicart, also Nicolaes Wicart, was a Dutch painter and draftsman.
Wicart was born in Utrecht in 1748 as the son of Andries Wicart and Anna Christina Meijbergh. His active period as an artist was from 1768 to 1815. He mainly gained fame for his large numbers of watercolors and grisailles of pastoral landscapes in the provinces of South Holland, Gelderland, North Brabant and Utrecht, among others. He was not always as accurate topographically, even when he marked a village name on the back of the page (with black pen). He had a penchant for river landscapes with upholstery and often a tree in the foreground as a repoussoir. He also made wallpaper designs. From 1774 to 1784 Wicart worked as a porcelain painter for the manufacture of Rev. Joannes de Mol in Oud-Loosdrecht .
Wicart was married to Johanna Margrieta Geerling. He died in 1815 in his birthplace.
