Robert Kirkland Jamieson wa a painter and teacher, born at Lanark, Scotland. He studied at Glasgow Training College for Teachers, then in Paris. For most of the 1930s he was head of Westminster School of Art, taking over as principal of St Martin’s School of Art in 1945. He was married to the artist and potter Dorothea Selous. He showed at RA, LG, NEAC, Redfern Gallery and extensively at RBA. Galleries in Oldham, Worthing, Belfast and Glasgow hold his work. Lived at Burford, Oxfordshire.
