Henri Salembier was a French painter, draftsman and ornament engraver. He is regarded as one of the stylistic pioneers and representatives of Louis XVI.
From about 1770 to 1820 he was active in Paris as a designer of decorative ornaments. His engravings, published in about 30 series around 1780 under the title Cahier d'Arabesques, were among the most frequently used model works in the second phase of Louis XVI.
