François “Frans” Verheyden was a Belgian genre painter. He studied under J. Langlois and Jean-Louis David in Paris, both of which specialized in genre and portrait painting. Verheyden was awarded a gold medal in Brussels in 1845, but he worked particularly in Antwerp, Belgium.
