Frederik Hendriks was born in Arnhem in 1808. Frederik Hendriks resided in his hometown of Arnhem his whole life. However, he took regular trips to nearby Amsterdam, sometimes for periods of several months. In the last years of his life, he was head of the Arnhem drawing school. As a landscape painter, Hendrik's tended to draw his motifs from the Gelderland region. His works were displayed in numerous contemporary exhibitions in the Netherlands and Northern Germany. Hendriks passed away in 1865.
