Georges Tiret-Bognet was a French painter and author, and the illustrator of among others works by Jules Verne. Born in Saint-Servan-sur-Mer, he studied Fine Arts in Paris and lived in poverty in districts of Goutte-d'Or and Saint-Bernard. He made illustrated picture stories for prints of the Imagerie Quantin in Paris (a.o. 'Zidore l'Invisible') in the style of the Images d'Épinal around the turn of the 20th century.
