Marian Wawrzeniecki was a Polish archaeologist, painter and art historian. He was a Student of Jan Matejko.
He was born on December 5, 1863 in Warsaw, in the family of Józef and Helena née Massalska. He graduated from the Jan Pankiewicz secondary school in Warsaw. He studied painting in Warsaw with Polikarp Gumiński, with Wojciech Gerson in 1880 and 1881, then until 1884 at the Krakow School of Fine Arts, where his teachers were Leopold Löffler and Władysław Łuszczkiewicz. In 1884 he went to the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In 1895 he settled permanently in Warsaw.
