Stanisław Cercha was a Polish art historian, painter, ethnographer and folklorist - amateur, researcher of the suburban folklore of Krakow in Kleparz Son of Maksymilian (1818-1907), an archaeologist and cartoonist. He studied painting with his father , and then (1881-1889) at the School of Fine Arts in Krakow with Florian Cynek, Władysław Łuszczkiewicz, Jan Matejko and Feliks Szynalewski.
He completed his studies in Munich with Anton Ažbe. In 1919 he published a work titled "Kleparz, a suburb of Krakow 50 years ago". In the years 1900-1904 he published Monuments of Krakow - 3 volumes with drawings of Krakow tombstones, made from 1846 by his father and himself.
