
Eugène Victor Bourgeois was a French painter, illustrator and poster artist.
A self-taught painter, Eugène Victor Bourgeois made his debut at the Salon of 1874. He exhibited there in 1880, as well as at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1881, where he was awarded a medal of honor that year, then a third-class medal in 1885. He won a bronze medal at the Universal Exposition of 1889 and at that of 1900. He then exhibited out of competition at the Salon des Artistes Français.
His painting is appreciated for its touches of light colors. He painted landscapes in Normandy, Brittany, Île-de-France, the Pyrenees, the Camargue, Italy, as well as North Africa.
