Carel Eliza van der Sande Lacoste was a Dutch painter and draughtsman.
Lacoste was the son of Carel Eliza van der Sande Lacoste and Antoinetta Philippina de Jongh. He studied at the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, with August Allebé and others, and later at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris. He produced mostly landscapes, portraits and interiors. Vincent van Gogh mentions Lacoste in his correspondence, but indicated that he did not hold him in particularly high regard. Typically, he was valued more for his drawings than for his painting. He was a member and later a board member of the Pictura drawing society.
Lacoste constantly ailed with his health, which at the end of his life severely inhibited his production. He underwent a period of treatment in Davos and died in 1894, aged 34, probably of tuberculosis. The Dordrecht Museum has work by Lacoste in its collection.
