

Arthur Joseph Guéniot was a French sculptor born in Bournezeau (Vendée) on May 1, 1866 and died in Vitry-le-François (Marne) on February 16, 1951.
Arthur Guéniot first studied at the Clermont-Ferrand School of Fine Arts, then became a prize-winning student at the Paris School of Fine Arts in the studio of Gustave Moreau and Jean-André Delorme.
An officer of the Academy in 1911 and knight of the Order of Cambodia, he was appointed knight of the Legion of Honor by decree of February 3, 1929.
He was a member of the Société des Artistes Français and won an honorable mention at the Salon of 1902, a bronze medal in 1920, a silver medal in 1925 and a gold medal, out of competition, in 1927.
