
A landscape artist and successful illustrator, Cecil Chichester experimented with both impressionistic and realistic painting styles. After studying under Maratta and Birge Harrison, he was an instructor at the Art Students League of New York and the Woodstock School of Painting. He was a prominent member of the Woodstock Art Colony and his works are in several New York collections as well as the White House.
