Jörg Kölderer was court painter from 1494 and then court architect to Emperor Maximilian I from 1518.
Kölderer provided preparatory work for the Gate of Honor, which Albrecht Dürer then put into practice.
The coat of arms scroll created by Jörg Kölderer is the so-called Kölderer scroll with 39 figures including their coats of arms for the tomb of Maximilian I in Innsbruck and can be seen in the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, Kunstkammer.
