Camille Louis Muraton, known as Louis Muraton, born in Tours on November 6, 1855, died in Paris on November 20, 1919, is a French painter.
Louis Muraton is the son of the painter Alphonse Muraton and Euphémie Muraton.
He studied in the workshops of Alexandre Cabanel, Fernand Cormon and Léon Bonnat at the evening classes of the Beaux-Arts in Paris.
Genre painter and portrait painter, his style is characterized by refined realism, his pastels are firm and vigorous. He composed many full-length portraits of notables.
He appeared at the Salon of French artists from 1886 to 1913 and obtained an honorable mention in 1889.
He also exhibited at the Salon d'Hiver from 1906 to 1914.
He died aged 64 in Paris (14th arrondissement) on November 20, 1919.
