Felix Esterl was an Austrian painter.
He was born in 1894, the son of Georg Esterl, a state official, and Marie Lackner, who died when he was ten years old. In 1912 he began studying engineering and then architecture in Zurich, but dropped out.
After the death of his father he inherited several properties, including a villa in Klagenfurt, to which he moved in 1925 with his wife Klothilde Ilming and their son Martin. He died in 1931 at age 36 from an appendectomy.
