Felix Schwormstädt was a German painter, draftsman and illustrator. He made a name for himself as a marine painter.
Schwormstädt studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. The student of Carl von Marrs began his artistic career as a book illustrator for the Leipzig Paul List Verlag (7 full screen novel edition "Renata" 1913 by Julius Wolff). He worked as a graphic artist for Hapag and Norddeutscher Lloyd before becoming a leading press illustrator for the Leipziger Illustrierte Zeitung during the First World War. Around 1920 he worked as a professor at the Bauhaus in Weimarand again increasingly for the North German Lloyd.
In 1906 he bought a villa in Stockdorf . There he lived a secluded life until he emigrated to Switzerland in 1931. During this time he also drew realistic local village scenes, such as the veterans' festival or children playing.
