Emmy Hottenroth - Kleisterpapier
Close

Emily (Emmy) Hottenroth was an artisan from Dresden Wachwitz. From 1900, she concentrated on a form of tulle embroidery that she named “Dynapur embroidery” after her birthplace in India. She also designed colored papers.

From 1910 at the latest, she devoted herself mainly to artistic embroidery, which she exhibited and sold on several occasions. She was a member of the German Werkbund. At the 1910 Brussels World's Fair, she received a silver medal in Group 18, Class 115 (handicrafts).

In 1914, she participated in the International Exhibition for the Book Trade and Graphic Arts (Bugra). She lived with her husband, the archivist Johann Edmund Hottenroth, in a villa in Wachwitz.
