Lodewijk Johannes Kleijn was a Dutch painter.
Kleijn was born in Loosduinen in 1817 as the son of the shoemaker Pieter Klein and Wilhelmina van der Post. He was a student of Andreas Schelfhout. His subjects were landscapes, especially winter and forest landscapes, animal representations, city and seascapes. Kleijn belonged to the Dutch Romantics. Klein painted mainly in The Hague and the surrounding area. Around 1840 he lived and painted in Kleve for some time.
Kleijn 's work can be found in the collections of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, the Kunstmuseum Den Haag and the Museum Rotterdam.
Kleijn married Kaatje van Dijk on 20 May 1846 in The Hague.
