Alois von Anreiter was an Austrian miniature painter.
Alois von Anreiter came from poor circumstances and worked from 1816 to 1825 in a shop. But he was driven to art, and so he gave up the business. He began to devote himself to art, where he found no support. At first he dealt with oil painting, but because of his health he was forced to switch to miniature and watercolor painting. From 1851 to 1853, the new Austrian Art Association, of which he was a member, exhibited some of Anreiter's works.
Von Anreiter also wrote some essays on art for Ludwig August Frankl von Hochwart's Sunday papers. He died at the age of 79 in Vienna.
