Carl Stauber was a German genre painter, illustrator, caricaturist, etcher and lithographer.
Carl Stauber studied painting from November 11, 1835 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich under Peter von Cornelius, Heinrich Maria von Hess and Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld. After completing his studies, he remained in Munich and worked for the Fliegende Blätter from 1844 to 1893.
Carl Stauber created (together with Carl Hermann Schmolze) illustrations for Hebel's Schatzkästlein des rheinischen Hausfreundes, Stuttgart 1846 (Cotta), as well as etchings for Georg Scherer's Alte und Neue Kinderlieder.
