Alphonse Henri Perin was born in Reims, France in 1798 and died in Paris, France in 1874. Perin entered the School of Fine Arts in 1817 where he was a pupil of Guerin and Bertin.
He lived in Rome for nine years and became friend and collaborator of Orsel.
He appeared at the Paris Salon from 1827-1859.
