Coy Howard

Coy Howard is a designer living in Venice, California. He has a B.Arch from the University of Texas and an M.A. in Urban Planning from UCLA. He has won a broad range of awards for his work including three national citations for design excellence from Progressive Architecture magazine, and Architectural Record magazine Record Houses of 1988.

His furniture has been accepted for inclusion into the permanent collections of the most prominent design collections of the United States. Examples of his graphic designs are held in several international museum collections, including The Museum of Modern Art in New York, and The Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Howard's work has appeared in over ten books, and many major design magazines. His most recent book The Thickening of Time was recently published (SCI-Arc Press 2015). He has lectured at many universities, directed two educational programs including the Environmental Arts Program at the Otis School of Art and Design which he founded.
