Michael Haubtmann was a German landscape painter.
Haubtmann attended grammar school in Prague's New Town as a student and after graduating from 1861 studied law at Charles University in Prague, where he was active in the Corps Austria. He was also a student of Max Haushofer from 1861 to 1865.
In 1867 he worked briefly in law, but gave this up in 1869 and moved to Munich before 1875. There he was initially a student of Julius Lange. Haubtmann traveled to Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Egypt and Norway and worked as a landscape painter.
