Henry Morin was born in Strasbourg and he studied fine arts in Paris. From 1897 to 1925, he was one of the main illustrators of the periodical Mon Journal. He was a successful illustrator of children's books from 1906. Some of his illustration work was sequential, such as his illustrations for André Lichtenberger's 'Nane et ses Bêtes', that appeared in La Semaine de Suzette. From 1925, he spent most of his time doing religious art.
