

Ilona Máté was a Hungarian artist. He studied at the Budapest School of Applied Arts, then continued his studies at Ferenc Szablya Frischauf's painting school between 1904 and 1907. He worked at Simon Hollósy's school in Técső in the summer of 1905. He was a founding member of the KÉVE artists' group. He participated in their group exhibitions. In 1909, KÉVE organized an exhibition of his posthumous works.
