Johannes Georg Barlösius was a German illustrator, graphic artist, typographer, lithographer, and painter.

Georg Barlösius was the son of a factory owner. He studied at the teaching institute of the Berlin Museum of Decorative Arts and, from October 18, 1886, at the Munich Art Academy. He was also a student of Otto Knille. He settled in Charlottenburg.

He devoted himself mainly to book graphics and typography. Barlösius created the fonts Barlösius Gotisch and Fette Barlösius Gotisch (1907, Bauersche Gießerei) as well as Barlösius Buchschrift (1906, Bauersche Gießerei). He designed and illustrated many books and created numerous bookplates.

He also created murals in the Theater des Westens (Charlottenburg) and stained glass windows in the Dankeskirche (Berlin-Wedding) and the Kaiserin-Augusta-Gymnasium (now Ludwig-Cauer-Grundschule, Charlottenburg).
