Auguste Marc Edmé Bry was a French engraver and lithographer active in Paris in the middle part of the 19th century. Publishing as 'Auguste Bry', he maintained offices at 8 Rue Favart (1839-1842), 134 Rue du Bac (1843), 114 Rue du Bac (1847 - 1850), and after 1850, at 149 Rue du Bac. Bry mastered lithography under none other than Johann Alois Senefelder (1771 - 1834), the German playwright who invented the process. Bry's work was exhibited at various art salons and other exhibitions between 1844 and 1878, where he was awarded 12 medals. He received the Légion d'Honneur. After Bry's death at 75, his sons took over the firm.
