Austrian genre painter, Gustav Igler, was born in Oldenburg, in 1842. He was the student of Waldmuller in Vienna and Ramberg in Munich and later in his life became Professor of the Stuttgart School of Fine Art, where two of his paintings are still displayed. Igler exhibited his work in Munich from 1879 and achieved success as a painter of genre and other figurative scenes. He died in 1908.
