
Hermann de Bruycker was a German landscape painter who studied in Hannover and Munich. In 1881 he settled in Hamburg in 1881 and became teacher at the Gewerbeschule in 1886. He received several important public commissions, among others paintings for the Hamburg town hall and the Opera. Besides he painted many portraits and appealing naturalistic landscapes from the Lüneburg heath, the port of Hamburg and the Bavarian alps
