Carl Pippich was born in Vienna in 1862. Carl Pippich studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under Carl Rudolf Huber and August Eisenmenger. He is recorded primarily for his Viennese city views. He created numerous vedutas in watercolor; he also was interested in technical progress and painted traffic facilities and factories as well as military subjects of the Royal and Imperial Army. Works by Carl Pippich are found today in the Museum of Military History in Vienna, among others.
