William Brenton Boggs was born in New Brunswick, NJ on July 2, 1809 and died in Georgetown, DC on March 11, 1875.
He spent most of his life in the Navy and seems to have had some official duties as an artist during his naval employment.
He was an associate of the National Academy of Design where he exhibited from 1839 to 1844. White Mountain titles include View on Lake Winnipiseogee [sic] and View on the Saco River.
A number of drawings of his are in the collection of the Sullivan Museum and History Center at Norwich University, Northfield, VT.
