

Tadeusz Cybulski was a lawyer, painter, sculptor, critic, and stage designer.
Son of August and Michalina née Włodarska. A graduate of the Faculty of Law at the Jagiellonian University, after obtaining his doctorate in law in 1905, he began studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. In 1905–1910, he studied sculpture under Konstanty Laszczka. Between 1918 and 1920, he studied painting in the studio of Wojciech Weiss. In 1921, he married Róża Czarnowska and abandoned his career as a lawyer. In April 1924, together with his wife and friends, he went on a trip around Europe, mainly to France and Italy.
He described his impressions of his stay in Paris, Marseille, Saint Tropez, Cannes, and Venice in a book published in 1925 entitled Poprzez formę i kolor. Impressions from a Journey." In Paris, he met Olga Boznańska and Józef Pankiewicz, in whose studio he studied nude painting for a week.
In 1924–1925, he studied in Paris under Józef Pankiewicz.
He painted landscapes (Planty krakowskie, 1926), still lifes, and portrait studies. He sculpted portraits of his friends. He designed costumes and stage sets, e.g. for Stanisław Wyspiański's Wyzwolenie, staged by the Cricot theater in 1938.
He was a member of the Jednoróg Guild of Visual Artists and the Zwornik Association of Visual Artists, and from 1913 to 1918 he served as vice-president of the Society of Friends of Fine Arts.
