The son of an artist, Marshall exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1867 to 1902. He also exhibited at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolors and the Royal Society of British Artists. He is particularly noted for his delicate and detailed landscape paintings. He lived from 1849 to 1926.
