Robert Acon

English, 1792-1880

English engraver and artist. Principally known for his illustrations to the topographical plate-books of the period. Born Chollerton, Northumberland 1792, the son of Robert and Ann (nee Rutherford) Acon. Married Mary Priest, St. Leonard Shoreditch 18 Dec 1831. Retired to Hexham, Northumberland. Died Hexham 1880.
