Oene Romkes De Jongh

Dutch, 1812-1896
Follow

Oene Romkes De Jongh was born in Makkum in 1812 and probably lived and worked in Amsterdam for most of his life. There he was mainly inspired by the work of contemporary Cornelis Springer and his pupil Adrianus Eversen. The painter's oeuvre includes atmospheric city views in summer and winter, including those of Amsterdam and the Zuiderzee harbors, and a few landscapes.
