Norman Hinsdale Pitman

Norman Hinsdale Pitman was an American author and educator.
Hinsdale was born on June 12, 1876 in Lamont, Michigan, United States. Son of Charles and Adeline M. (Hinsdale) Pitman. He recieved a Master of Arts degree from the University of Tennessee in 1897.

He taught at Chihli Province College in China from 1909-1912 before becoming a professor of English at Peking Teachers College. He was the author of several novels and short story collections, including The Lady Elect, A Chinese Christmas Tree, Chinese Playmates, and Chinese Fairy Tales.
