Max Roeder was a German Artist.From 1888 onwards, Max Roeder lived in Rome, where he taught as a professor at the Accademia di San Luca. Max Röder was one of the last so called “Deutschrömer” painters. Under the influence of Arnold Böcklin, he imbued his large-format paintings with a romantic and symbolist mood. He is considered an outstanding representative of a classical, colouristic and impressionistic landscape painting. His collectors included King Victor Emmanuel III.
