Kennett Watkins

New Zealander, 1847–1933

Auckland artist, born in India, educated in England and as an artist in France and Switzerland. Arrived in New Zealand in 1873 and was based in Auckland as an artist and teacher 1877-1915. In 1908 he was living in Palmerston Buildings at 47 Queen Street Auckland. After 1915 he moved to Ruatoria, Dannevirke and Mercury Bay. He signed his work as Kennett Watkins, K Watkins or KW.
