Jules Taupin, born in Pierrefitte-sur-Seine on August 8, 1863 and died in Épinay-sur-Orge on September 2, 1932, was a French painter, draughtsman and photographer.
Jules Taupin studied at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, with Benjamin-Constant and Jules Lefebvre. He exhibited at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français from 1893 to 1931. He sent his paintings there for more than thirty years, exclusively depicting scenes of daily life in Algeria. Taupin painted scenes of daily life in Saharan towns.
The painter won a medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition, then took part in the 1906 Marseille Colonial Exhibition.
In 1907, he became a member of the Société des Artistes Français.
