Joseph Moerenhout was a Belgian painter of Beachscapes and landscapes in general. He is known for his quality in depicting horses. He got his education in Antwerp by H. Van der Poorten and in Paris from Horace Vernet, a well known painter of historical and military scens He lived at The Hague in 1824 and between 1831 and 1853. He worked in that time with Andreas Schelfhout and Louis Meijer.
