












Joseph Hussenot was a French painter of the 19th century.
Joseph Hussenot was born in Metz in 1827 into a family of artists. He was the son of Auguste Hussenot, the inventor of “oil painting on sheets.”
He specialized in monumental religious painting, in which he excelled. He is best known for The Ecstasy of the Saints before the Trinity in the Church of Saint-André in Lille. He was also skilled in wash painting and produced cartoons for master glassmakers in Metz and the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region. Joseph Hussenot died in 1896.
