Jacobus van Dijck was a painter, draftsman, printmaker and professor of academia Dutch in the nineteenth century. He studied at the Royal School of Fine Arts ( Koninklijke School voor Beeldende Kunsten ) in Den Bosch (1833-1839) and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts ( Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten ) in Antwerp (1839-1847). His main artistic periods are divided between Amsterdam (1847-1858) and Den Bosch(1858-1867). Between 1867 and 1895 he was professor of drawing at the Rijks HBS in Helmond and director of Stadstekenschool.
