Follow

Jacob Petersen was a Danish artist who worked and lived in Flensburg and Kobenhavn, Denmark. Petersen was a sea captain but started painting as early as 1795 although most of his works are dating after 1807. He met C.W. Eckersberg in 1831 and received some instructions on marine art, advising Eckersberg in return on rigging and other technical details of sailing vessels.
