Henryk Piątkowski was a Polish painter, graphic artist, writer and art critic.
He began his studies in Petersburg, but soon moved to Warsaw and continued it from 1868 with Rafał Hadziewicz. During one year of study, he met Józef Chełmoński and Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski. In 1872 he went to Munich, where from November 1 he studied with Alexander Wagner at the Technische Mahlschule, and then with Carl Theodor von Piloty. While in the Reich, he maintained close relations with artists from the circle of Konstanty Brandl. In 1875, together with Józef Chełmoński, he went to Paris, where his work took on an individual character. From the French capital, he went to London for several months, from where he briefly returned to Munich, and then went to Odessa. He returned to Warsaw in 1879 and was a co-founder of the artistic group Pro Arte.
